Brisbane are in a precarious position with a trip to Melbourne on the horizon, given their current injuries, is not unrealistic to suggest that they could be sitting at a 1-4 record heading into the round 6 derby against the Dolphins. As such, I get the feel that back at home, off a longer turnaround, there is going to be a real emphasis to win here and we see max effort. The Cows have been good and remain unbeaten, but that just means they’re sitting at their peak market price. This will be the toughest test for the Cows so far this year. For those who were only scoreboard watching, the Dragons were a bombed try away from taking a 24-6 lead near half-time and could very well have handed the Cows their first loss. In that scenario, Brisbane would’ve been a favourite here. Off my ratings, adding home field and the rest edge and I make this Brisbane -1. This has the potential to go down to the wire and with the wet weather around South-East Queensland, should be tight throughout and Reynolds’ kicking game is an added edge in our favour. Given their aspirations toward another title tilt, I don’t think they’d risk him unless his knee was right. So I’m confident Reynolds sees out the game. If he doesn’t that is added incentive to take the first half line too.
